We’re excited to kick off yet another year of our JLC school-wide fundraiser. Penny Wars is a fun and friendly competition for our students! During this event, students will compete within their grade for a grand prize and against other nests for daily prizes.
And yes—since pennies aren’t being made anymore, this is a great chance to clear them out at home!
Students may bring in pennies, dollar bills, and silver coins.
Pennies and dollar bills will add points to a student’s nest total.
Silver coins (nickels, dimes, quarters) can be used to subtract points from another nest’s total.
Nest Teacher Rep - There is one teacher per NEST in charge of collecting, counting, and delivering the nest money/counts daily to the main office.
Totals will be calculated daily throughout the event.
Prizes Students Can Earn
Daily Prizes may include:
COBRA Points to spend in the school store
Candy; Jolly Ranchers, Tootsie Roll Pops, Airheads, Dum-Dums
Chips
Grand Prize: A pizza party for one winning nest in each grade
